April Webinars a Worldwide Success!

SBIO faculty, Dr. Laszlo Horvath, is helping packaging and pallet professionals to learn new skills by working with NWPCA to offer training to the industry via webinars. In April 2020, the partnership offered three different webinars which reached a total of 680 people from around the world. The webinars drew in participants from 17 countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Singapore, Italy, Australia, India, Peru, among many others.

These webinars covered pallet, unit load, and corrugated box design techniques utilizing NWPCA’s software, the Pallet Design System (PDS). NWPCA is one of the premier financial sponsors of Dr. Horvath’s research which is focusing on how to optimize the design of wooden pallets using the load bridging phenomenon between the packages carried by the pallet. The results of these research projects are continuously built into new versions of the PDS software.
