Unit Load Stability
The packaging program at Virginia Tech just expanded its capabilities with a state-of-the-art unit load stability equipment. The Lansmont Trumotion unit load stability equipment allows us to simulate truck breaking events during over-the-road transportation and to design stable unit loads.
This is a unique capability for the program because Virginia Tech is the only academic institution in the US that has this capability. We will use it to expand the body of knowledge in this area and to help the US to develop a unit load stability testing standard.
